This Privacy Policy explains how Howie's Liquor ("Howie's," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit this website, place an order with us, join our rewards program, or shop in our store.

We are a licensed Texas alcoholic beverage retailer. Some of the information we collect — your age, your identity at delivery, and records of your purchases — we collect because Texas law requires it of us, not because we chose to.
1. You must be 21 or older
This website is intended only for people who are at least 21 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has given us personal information, email howiesliquor@gmail.com and we will delete it.
2. Information we collect

Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account
Your date of birth, and your ID at pickup or delivery, to confirm you are 21 or older
Billing and delivery addresses, and any delivery instructions
Payment card details, which go directly to our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers on our own systems
Rewards program membership and points balance
House account (store credit) information, if you have an account with us
Your order history and product preferences
Messages you send us, product reviews, and support requests
Information collected automatically
IP address, device and browser type, and operating system
Pages you view, links you click, searches you run, and items you add to your cart
Approximate location from your IP address, and — only if you allow it — your device location, used to check whether your address is inside our delivery area

4. Age and identity verification
When you order alcohol, we confirm your age at checkout and again when the order is handed to you. Our staff or driver will check the government-issued ID of the person receiving the order and record that the check was made. We keep these records for as long as Texas law requires them and no longer, and we never use them for marketing.
5. When we share information
We share personal information only as described here.
Companies that work for us: website and cloud hosting, our online store and point-of-sale platforms, payment processors, delivery drivers and shipping carriers, email and text-message providers, customer-service tools, and analytics providers. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
Gift recipients and account holders: a gift recipient will see the sender's name, and the holder of a house account can see purchases charged to that account.
Regulators and law enforcement, including the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, when we are legally required to produce records or to respond to lawful process.
Our professional advisers — accountants, lawyers, insurers.
A buyer or successor, if all or part of our business is ever sold or reorganized.
Anyone else you direct us to share with.
We do not sell your personal information for money. This website may use third-party analytics and advertising cookies, and that use can count as "targeted advertising" or a "sale" of personal information under some state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time — see Section 8.
6. Email and text messages
We send marketing email, and text messages if you opt in. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help, and use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Opting out of marketing does not stop messages about orders you have already placed, such as confirmations, delivery updates, and receipts. We do not send marketing to anyone we cannot confirm is 21 or older.
7. Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work — your cart, your login, and security — and cookies that help us understand how the site is used and measure our advertising. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but blocking necessary cookies will stop checkout from working. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of targeted advertising for any browser that sends it.
8. Your privacy rights
If you live in Texas, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you the right to ask us to:
confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you access to it
correct anything inaccurate
delete personal information you gave us or that we obtained about you
give you a copy of the information you provided, in a portable format
stop using your information for targeted advertising, for sale, or for profiling that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you
Email howiesliquor@gmail.com to make a request. We will confirm your identity against the information in your account and reply within 45 days; if we need more time, we may take a further 45 days and will tell you why. Someone you authorize may submit an opt-out request for you.
If we turn your request down, you may appeal by replying to our decision. We will answer the appeal within 60 days, and if we still turn it down you may complain to the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
There are limits. We cannot delete records the law requires us to keep, including age-verification and sales records required by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and we cannot delete information we still need to complete an order you have placed.
If you live in another state with a similar privacy law, we will honor the rights that law gives you. Email us and tell us where you live.
9. Sensitive information
Two things we collect are treated as sensitive under some laws: your device location, which we use only with your permission and only to check whether we can deliver to you, and your government-issued ID information, which we use only to confirm your age. We do not use either for advertising.
10. Security
We encrypt information in transit, limit which staff can see it, and use established payment and verification providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as we need it for the purposes above — including the periods Texas law sets for sales, age-verification, and tax records. We keep marketing information until you opt out. After that, we delete it or strip out anything that identifies you.
12. Other websites
This site links to websites and services we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
